Eligibility Screening
In order to determine your eligibility to participate in a BMR, you may use this site to submit an eligibility worksheet to First Home, Inc. Upon receiving a completed eligibility/screening application and $40 application fee, First Home will review and analyze your income, savings and credit and notify you regarding your eligibility status. $40 application fee includes cost of running tri-agency mortgage credit report.
If you are eligible, you will be asked to come in and meet with a counselor who will help find the subsidies that you are qualified for. It is likely that there will be more applicants than available homes. In this case, applicants will be chosen through a lottery system. Unless otherwise advised by you, all
interested buyers on the eligible list will be automatically placed into the lottery system.
If you are not eligible, First Home will direct you to resources and services that you can contact to further discuss your homebuyer efforts.
Submitting an eligibility worksheet/application does not guarantee that you will be chosen or able or to purchase a BMR. However, providing accurate information on your application will provide you greater assurance that your name will be applied towards the lottery and ensure that FHI will contact you at the appropriate time to notify you of your next steps (even if you are ineligible for the BMRs).
