Program Overview

The WOW Programs objective is to provide homebuyer assistance to over six hundred households of color over the following twenty four months. The program will deliver homebuyer education and counseling and help direct participants to beneficial homebuyer opportunities and resources available to them in the 9th Congressional District.

Partners, resource, and service participants involved with the WOW Program include Fannie Mae, California Housing Finance Agency, local real estate lenders and financial institutions, for profit and not profit real estate developers, and non-profit credit and homebuyer education and counseling organizations.

Participants in the WOW program will have access to homebuyer education, counseling, and financial self sufficiency curriculums. In addition, qualified buyers may be able to participate in obtaining close to $100,000 down payment assistance subsidies in some geographic areas and access to purchase below market rate units that would be selling up to 40% below market values.

The WOW Program is administered through the Bay Area HomeBuyer Agency (BAHBA) and its administrative arm, First Home, Inc. (FHI).
